THE JOY OF
CREATING //
Founded back in the late 2000s by three creatively frustrated friends – as an outlet to make stuff together – Hero of Switzerland became a channel for creative thinking and making.
Ideas for exhibitions, online galleries, Twitter accounts, zines, apparel, homeware, merch etc… found their way into The Guardian, The Huffington Post and Buzzfeed, Somerset House, The Glastonbury Festival and the National Football Museum – as well as stores and independent shops on Carnaby Street, Oxford Street and across the UK.
Fun ideas, brought to life for pleasure rather than obligation, and shared under the umbrella of illustration.
Now we’re a collection of artists and friends, whose shared values allow us to not only produce original work but to have fun whilst doing it.
THE DIFFERENT WAYS
WE SHOW OFF //

Turning a thought into a thing and sharing it with everyone.
Events:
Breathing new life into old ideas; Networking without being horrendous or life drawing without the pomp or snootiness.
Art Fairs:
Showcasing our work directly to the public alongside our creative community.
HEROES
AND FRIENDS //
Founder Dan Button is a creative director by day, but is Hero of Switzerland the rest of the time. A platform that enables him to explore ideas outside of the world of brands that he finds funny or inspiring, and hopes others will enjoy too.
Over the years Dan has worked with loads of artists – some dip in and out – but others choose to stay for longer and play more of an active role in what we do. Adam Graff is just that, an international award winning illustrator and senior lecturer who is an integral part of what Hero is today. In addition, Illustrator and animator Daniel Jamie Williams and illustrator and art director Samuel B Thorne are both great collaborators who get what Hero is about; creativity, fun and family.
A wider network of inspiring, talented and lovely people across Europe make up the rest Hero of Switzerland. Artists who have been showcased at the Saatchi Gallery, been Portrait Artist of the Year, and have even gone toe toe with Simon Cowell in the race for the Christmas #1.
WORKING
TOGETHER //
Artists:
We’ve created a close and supportive community of artists; where values, attitude and approach enable us to maintain that community. You might be a young artist wanting to get your work out into the world, an established artist who needs to freshen things up a bit, or you might be an artist with a day job who just needs an alternative creative outlet. The vibe of the work is definitely more important to us than the style, but not being a prick is most the important thing.
Agencies:
We’re thinkers as well as doers, so we can work in many different ways. You might have a creative brief that needs a unique approach, a live experience or workshop to inspire your team, or you might just want an introduction to one of our artists for a specific project.
Whatever you reason for visiting, we’d be happy to chat.
